【特許請求の範囲】
【請求項１】
複数の上位装置に接続され、入出力要求範囲を指定する命令を含む複数の入出力要求を上位装置から受け取り、該命令に基づいて前記上位装置と複数の記憶装置との間のデータ転送を制御し、前記入出力要求毎に前記入出力要求の制御情報を記憶するメモリを有する制御装置と、前記制御装置に接続され、複数の記憶装置にわたって設定される論理ボリュームを有する前記記憶装置とを備え、
前記制御装置は、新たに入出力要求があった場合は、前記メモリに前記入出力要求範囲を記憶し、前記メモリ内に当該入出力要求範囲が重複する他の前記入出力要求がない場合は当該入出力要求を実行し、前記メモリ内に当該入出力要求範囲が重複する他の前記入出力要求がある場合は、当該入出力要求が実行を待たされていることを示す情報を前記メモリに記憶することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項２】
請求項１の記憶装置システムにおいて、１つの論理ボリュームに対する複数の入出力要求の入出力要求範囲が相互に異なる記憶装置に含まれるときは、前記複数の入出力要求に基づく前記記憶装置からのデータの読み出しは並行して実行されることを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項３】
請求項１記載の記憶装置において、前記記憶装置は前記記憶制御装置が使用する制御メモリに対する入出力機能を有するサービス機器を備え、このサービス機器からの指示あるいは処理装置からの指示により前記メモリに前記入出力要求範囲による排他制御を行うかどうかを示す情報を格納し、入出力要求があった場合は該情報に基づいて前記入出力要求範囲による排他制御を行うかあるいは前記論理ボリューム単位の排他制御を行うかを選択することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項４】
複数の記憶デバイスと、
前記複数の記憶デバイス上に形成された複数の論理ボリュームへの複数の上位装置からのデータの読み書きを制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記複数の上位装置の中の第一の上位装置が前記論理ボリュームとは異なる第一の記憶領域へのデータ書き込みを要求したとき、前記制御部は、前記複数の上位装置の中の第二の上位装置からの前記第一の記憶領域へのデータ書き込み要求を強制的に待たせることを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項５】
請求項４に記載の記憶装置システムであって、前記複数の上位装置から要求されたライトデータが格納される記憶領域に関する情報を格納するメモリを更に備えることを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項６】
請求項５に記載の記憶装置システムであって、前記第一の上位装置が前記第一の記憶領域にデータ書き込みを要求すると、前記制御部は、前記第一の記憶領域に関する第一の情報を前記メモリに格納し、前記制御部は、前記第一の情報を参照することにより、前記第二の上位装置による第一の記憶領域への書き込み要求が確かに第一の記憶領域への書き込み要求であることを決定することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項７】
請求項５又は請求項６に記載の記憶装置システムであって、前記第二の上位装置が前記第一の記憶領域にデータ書き込みを要求すると、前記制御部は、前記第一の記憶領域に関する第二の情報を前記メモリに格納し、前記第二の情報は、前記第二の上位装置から前記第一の記憶領域への書き込み要求が待ち状態にあることを示す情報を含むことを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項８】
請求項５又は請求項６に記載の記憶装置システムであって、前記第一の上位装置が前記第一の記憶領域にデータ書き込みを要求し、前記複数の上位装置の中の第三の上位装置が前記第一の記憶領域に重複しない第二の記憶領域にデータの書き込みを要求すると、前記制御部は、前記第三の上位装置による前記第二の記憶領域へのデータ書き込み要求を許可することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項９】
請求項８に記載の記憶装置システムであって、前記第一の上位装置が前記第一の記憶領域にデータ書き込みを要求すると、前記制御部は、前記第一の記憶領域に関する第一の情報を前記メモリに格納し、前記制御部は、前記第一の情報を参照することにより、前記第三の上位装置による前記第二の記憶領域へのデータの書き込みを要求が確かに前記第一の記憶領域に重複しない記憶領域への書き込み要求であることを決定することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項１０】
請求項８に記載の記憶装置システムであって、前記第三の上位装置が前記第二の記憶領域にデータの書き込みを要求すると、前記制御部は、前記第二の記憶領域に関する第三の情報を前記メモリに格納することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。

複数の記憶デバイスと、
前記複数の記憶デバイス上に形成された複数の論理ボリュームへの複数の上位装置からのデータの読み書きを制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記制御部は、前記複数の上位装置から同一の論理ボリュームへの複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を受信すると、前記複数のＩ／Ｏ要求間に入出力要求範囲のコンフリクトが生じていないならば、前記制御部は、前記複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を並行処理することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項１２】
複数の記憶デバイスと、
前記複数の記憶デバイス上に形成された複数の論理ボリュームへの複数の上位装置からのデータの読み書きを制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記制御部は、前記複数の上位装置から同一の論理ボリュームへの複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を受信すると、前記複数のＩ／Ｏ要求間に入出力要求範囲のコンフリクトが生じているならば、前記制御部は、前記複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を並行処理しないことを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項１３】
複数の記憶デバイスと、
前記複数の記憶デバイス上に形成された複数の論理ボリュームへの複数の上位装置からのデータの読み書きを制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記制御部は、前記複数の上位装置から同一の論理ボリュームへの複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を受信し、前記複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を並行処理することを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
【請求項１４】
複数の記憶デバイスと、
前記複数の記憶デバイス上に形成された複数の論理ボリュームへの複数の上位装置からのデータの読み書きを制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記制御部は、前記複数の上位装置から同一の論理ボリュームへの複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を受信し、前記複数のＩ／Ｏ要求の入出力要求範囲が重複しているならば、前記複数のＩ／Ｏ要求を並行処理しないことを特徴とする記憶装置システム。
