A találmány tárgya eljárás (X-CH2-)2NH <N (II) általános képletűszekunder aminok - ahol X adott esetben 1-20 szénatomos alkil-, 3-8szénatomos cikloalkil-, (4-20 szénatomos alkil)-cikloalkil-, (4-20szénatomos cikloalkil)-alkil-, (2-20 szénatomos alkoxi)-alkil-, 6-14szénatomos aril-, (7-20 szénatomos alkil)-aril-, 7-20 szénatomosaralkil-, 1-20 szénatomos alkoxi-, hidroxi-, hidroxi-(1-20 szénatomosalkil)-, amino-, (1-20 szénatomos alkil)-amino-, (2-20 szénatomosdialkil)-amino-, (2-12 szénatomos alkenil)-amino-, (3-8 szénatomoscikloalkil)-amino-, aril-amino-, diaril-amino-, aril-(1-8 szénatomosalkil)-amino-csoporttal, halogénatommal, merkapto-, (2-20 szénatomosalkenil)-oxi-, 3-8 szénatomos cikloalkoxi-, aril-oxi- és/vagy (2-8szénatomos alkoxi)-karbonil-csoporttal szubsztituált 1-20 szénatomosalkil-, 2-20 szénatomos alkenil- vagy 3-8 szénatomos cikloalkil-csoport - előállítására X-CN N> (III) általános képletű nitrilek 20 és 250 °Cközötti hőmérsékleten és 6 x 106 és 3,5 x 107 Pa (60-350 bar) közöttinyomáson, egy ródiumtartalmú katalizátor jelenlétében - amely akatalizátor teljes tömegére számítva 0,1 és 5 tömeg% ródiumottartalmaz egy hordozón - hidrogénnel X-CH2-NH2 <N (I) általánosképletű primer aminok és (X-CH2-)2-NH (II) általános képletű szekunderaminok elegyévé való reagáltatásával, és a kapott elegyekből a primeraminok legalább egy részének elkülönítésével és a reakcióba valóvisszaforgatásával.
