Electrically connected movable contacts (not shown) engage main and arcing fixed contacts 5, 6 which are connected through blowout coils 8, 9 on either side of the arcing contact 6 on a magnetic core which interconnects magnetic plates 11, 12 provided with refractory insulation 11a, 12a.
