994,363. Arc-rupturing in switches. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Sept. 13, 1961 [Sept. 19, 1960], No. 32831/61. Heading H2B. To prevent the arc impinging those walls of a quenching chamber which extend parallel to the direction in which the arc is drawn, an arc runner 5 secured to or part of the fixed contact member 3, 4 is of C-shaped cross-section. The arc runner may be of ferromagnetic material. Two fixed contacts 3, 4 co-operating with a contact bridge may be provided in a contactor.
