Abstract

994,115. Furniture joints &c. ORGANISATION ECONOMIQUE MODERNE S.A. July 31, 1963 [Sept. 20, 1962], No. 30456/63. Heading A4W. [Also in Divisions A6, B6 and G5] A constructional element 1 (Fig. 1) has channelled flanges 5, 6, 10, 11 on at least two opposite edges and arranged "out of phase", whereby two or more such elements may be arranged edge to edge, their flanges forming ducts into which locking rods 15 (Fig. 3) are inserted. The rods may thread through brackets 16, 17 and be secured by screws or by nuts 18 (Fig. 4) to form a panel comprising a series of elements (Fig. 2, not shown). The element 1 illustrated (Fig. 1) comprises horizontal slots 2 for the reception of T-shaped filing cards, the brackets 16, 17 embracing a panel of elements 1 (Fig. 4) having grooves 19, 21 for labels and a plate 20 covering the lower slots 2, which are not used. The element may be moulded of synthetic plastics. Elements 1 may be used to construct walls or partitions, furniture and office equipment. The elements or flanges may be shaped to permit construction in other than a flat configuration.
