Abstract

1355067 Cabinets ANIC SpA 28 May 1971 [29 May 1970 21 July 1970] 18119/71 Heading A4B [Also in Divisions E1-2 and F2] A joining member for joining panels, Fig.3, comprises a bar 10 having pairs of resilient protuberances 11 and resilient projections 12 forming recesses 13 on its sides. Each panel Fig.6, is hollow and has at its edges internal parallel ribs 3, 5 defining slots 4 and sockets 6. The protuberances 11 are fixed in the slots 4 and the projections 12 in the sockets 6, the recesses 13 accommodating the ribs 5. Grooves 7 on the panels co-operate with grooves 14 on the bars 10 to receive backing boards perpendicular to the panels. In a modified joining member, Fig. 8, the pair of resilient protuberances are provided by a split peg 17, and the protuberances are forced apart by a slat or pin 23, Figs.10, 12 (not shown), provided in a slot in a panel. Such a peg may also be provided on the end of the bar Fig.9 (not shown) for joining two members endto-end. The slat or pin may have knurled surfaces. The parts may comprise plastics; the joining member may be hollow.
