Abstract

1,062,480. Sectional cabinets. ETHICON Inc. Dec. 12, 1963 [Dec. 12, 1962], No. 49206/63. Heading A4B. A cabinet is formed by connecting together several moulded units 13, 14, 15 each of which comprises a horizontal wall 18 and several vertical wall sections 19, which are integral with the wall 18 and define a plurality of drawer spaces between them the sections 19 being unconnected at the front of the drawer space and along its length except by the wall 18. The units 14, 15 are identical except that the lower unit 15 has cylindrical feet 16 connected by a rim 17, whereas the intermediate unit 13 has upwardly and downwardly depending walls 19. The cabinet may comprise units 14 and 15 and as many intermediate units necessary to provide the requisite number of drawer spaces. Adjacent units are connected by interlocking corresponding tongues 36 and recesses 37 formed on the walls 19 and sliding clips 34 longitudinally over superimposed flanges 21 and 22 formed on the end walls 19 positioning knobs and slots being provided on the edges of the back walls of the units. Wedge shaped detents 41, which are formed on the horizontal walls 18 catch against shoulders on the base of the drawers and act as stops to prevent unintentional complete withdrawal of the drawers. The units may be injection moulded from polystyrene, polypropylene or polyethylene.
