Abstract

A shelving or like rack structure includes plates 1e, 1f usable as a top wall, a base wall or an intermediate shelf, each plate 1e, 1f being moulded in one-piece from foamed plastics to provide a porous centre within outer layers of close texture, and each plate being formed, with ribs 11, 12 on its underside and with stubs 14, 15 at its corners, the stubs 14, 15 being engageable in or over the ends of uprights 19. Metal reinforcement may be embedded in the ribs and stubs. Notches 13 in the plates may locate the upper ends of partitions with lugs engaged in slots 9 in a subjacent plate. Intermediate metal shelves (5a-c, Fig. 1) may be supported by lugs 20 on metal uprights 19. Alternatively, extruded plastics uprights (Fig. 5) may have a longitudinally extending dovetail groove (24) in which support elements for shelves may be secured.
