[Also in Division B7] A vehicle for working in mines is propelled from the energy stored in a flywheel set in motion by an air turbine. The flywheel 1, which is rotatably mounted in a casing 5 and is connected through clutches and gearing to the vehicle wheels, is connected to the rotor 3 of the turbine which is associated with air jets 6 from a manifold 7 provided on the cover 4 of the casing which is also provided with exhaust ports 9 which are closed when the vehicle is in motion. The flywheel is set in motion from a fixed air supply in the mine.
