Abstract

992,153. Shelf brackets. CHURCH & CO. (FITTINGS) Ltd. July 16, 1963 [July 16, 1962], No. 27198/62. Heading A4B. A metal column C (Fig. 1) for a supporting structure comprises a box section part 11, channels 14 to receive a slotted strip or plate 12, and channels 13 to support panels P. A hooked bracket B is supported on the column C by engaging its hooks in the slots in the plate 12. Different shaped columns are shown in Figs. 6 and 7, the strip 12 in Fig. 7 having bent back side parts 12a to provide additional support, and the column in Fig. 6 being constructed to support brackets from two faces. Two adjacent columns may be interconnected by a cross-bar, with a panel P fitting in opposing channels 13. The whole structure may be supported by ground bearing feet and may itself support shelves on the brackets.
