Abstract

1,120,910. Shelving. S. K. GERDMAN. 8 Dec., 1966 [15 Dec., 1965], No. 54940/66. Heading A4B. A shelf support comprises in combination a bracket with a horizontal shelf support arm 6 terminating in an upwardly directed arcuate portion 7, and a bracket supporting post of stepped cross-section provided in its central piece 1 with vertically elongated apertures 4 through which the arcuate portion 7 is engaged. A notch 8 at the bracket elbow bears on the bottom edge of the aperture 4 and the free end of the arcuate portion 7 bears on the rear face of the central portion 1 between superposed apertures 4. Back panels (13, 14) have their side edges engaged against side faces 15 of the post are secured by screws (16) passed through apertures 5 in the steps 2. Two posts may be secured back to back by bolts (17) engaged through aligned holes 5 in flanges 3 of the posts. A sleeve 11 may be fitted over the horizontal bracket arm 6. Holes 9 in the arm 6 receive fastening elements for the shelves. Shelves may be supported on hooks 12 fitted on the sleeve 11.
