A gill box has its feed and drafting rollers mounted for vertical adjustment so as to vary the penetration of fibres in the faller teeth. One form of adjustment device has a horizontally adjustable wedge member b<SP>1</SP> arranged to co-operate with the support for a lower roller K. Another device has a lower roller G mounted for vertical movement under the influence of hydraulic pressure, movement being restricted by the action of a cam C co-operating with the top roller. Provision is made for horizontal adjustment of the roller G through its support T. An index E indicates the distance of the roller nip from the bottom of the faller pins.
