Abstract

988,523. Thread tensions. SOCIETE ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES. March 21, 1962 [March 22, 1961], No. 10779/62. Headings DID and D1E. A thread-tensioner, especially for use in looms, comprises a base-plate 401, a table projecting from the plate and providing a surface 402 normal to the plate, a plurality of guides 403, 405 projecting from the plate and defining a threadpath parallel to but spaced from the surface, a support 413 carried by the plate spaced from the table, one or more light leaf-springs 411, 412 each attached at one end to the support to extend between a pair of guides towards the surface, and each having rounded free end portions engageable with the thread to cause it to take a sinuous path, and means for adjusting the support both as regards its spacing and its inclination relative to the surface. The support is attached to the base-plate by magnets 414, 415 and screws 421, 422 permit a fine adjustment of the loading of the springs. A microswitch 431 with a feeler 432 operates a stop-motion when the thread fails.
