Abstract

1,192,705. Controlling yarn balloons. VYZKUMNY A VYVOJOVY USTAV ZAVODU VSEOBECNEHO STROJIRBNSTVI. 26 July, 1968 [29 July, 1967], No. 35838/68. Heading D1D. Means for braking yarn and controlling the balloon druing draw-off from a stationary bobbin 1 comprises a carrier 21 provided with a pin braking device (i.e. pins 6, 7 positioned to cause the yarn to follow a serpentine path), a double disc braking device 11, 12 and a yarn guide 4 in the form of a bent tube, a balloon limiter device 3 being provided at the entry side of tube 4 to damp oscillations of the yarn withdrawn from the bobbin. The pins 7 are mounted on movable members 8 so that the braking effect of the pins can be adjusted. An adjustable spring may be provided to load the double disc tensioner 11, 12 and the central pin 9 may be adjustably posiitoned about its axis so that the braking effect of the guide 10 can be adjusted. The package holder 13 is mounted on an arm 15 adjustable on a rod 17 which also carries the pin carrier 21. A plate 19 with a pile pad 20 is provided and is lightly engaged by the bobbin.
