Abstract

988,112. Ropes. A. DIETZ. May 16, 1963 [June 6, 1962], No. 19526/63. Heading D1T. A stranded wire rope has the gaps 4, 5, 6 between the outer strands 3 filled with synthetic plastic material 7, 8, 9 in such a manner that the exposed surface of these fillings generate a cylindrical surface 10 that is substantially equal to the diameter of the wire rope. The fillings preferably extend inwardly beyond a circle 11 connecting the centres of the outer strands 3 and may surround the inner strand 2. The strands 3 are preferably spaced apart to permit the fillings to pass between them.
