Abstract

794,412. Wire ropes. BRITISH ROPES Ltd. Aug. 13, 1954, No. 31758/56. Divided out of 794,411 [Group XXII]. Class 109 Steel wire ropes, strands, &c., Figs. 1, 3, comprise a faceted king wire and successive layers of polygonal section wires in close contact, the section of the wires in the outer layer being that of a keystone with a radiused head, shaped to the circumference of the rope or strand. In examples the wires are of pentagonal section and in one example diamond shaped filler wires, Fig. 3, are located between the successive layers.
