[Class 109] A machine for forming wire ropes or strands comprising a rotatable cylindrical member. 1 within which cradles 3 are mounted at intervals so that they can rotate freely within the member 1, has a number of bobbins 6 supported by each cradle so that the individual bobbins can rotate relatively to one another. The wires from the bobbins pass through fair leads g and are brought together through a trunnion of the member 1 to the usual closing die.
