Abstract
985,819. Electric lighting fittings. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. June 26, 1961, No. 23055/61. Heading F4R. A lighting fitting, especially for street lighting, suitable for homogeneously illuminating an area with light of a desired colour content comprises a central tubular light source means of selected colour content, outer tubular light source means of a further selected colour content disposed in spaced parallel relationship with and on opposite sides of the central source, the sources illuminating the arc both directly and indirectly by way of reflectors extending along opposite sides of the fitting to receive light emitted laterally to the general direction of direct illumination and effective to reflect light from the central and outer source means in such a ratio as to produce uniform illumination of the area by light of desired colour content. The lantern 1 contains two lamps 2, 3 of the same colour, e.g. fluorescent lamps, on opposite sides of a third lamp 4, e.g. a sodium vapour lamp. Mirrors 5a, 6a are arranged outside the outer lamps to reflect the light only from the lamps 2, 3 and mirrors 5b, 6b to reflect light from the lamps 2, 4 and 3, 4 respectively. The lantern is closed by a transparent cover 7.
