Abstract

Synthetic zeolites of the general formulae 0.6-1.2 Me2O.Al2O3, 0-0.2 (Z2O3 or Z2O5), 1.22-4.5 SiO2, 0-7.2 H2O, where Me is an alkali metal and Z2O3 represents B2O3 or As2O3 and Z2O3 represents P2O3, As2O5\t or V2O5, are produced by adding to the reactent system borates, cosenites, arsenates, phosphates and/or vanadates. Sodium aluminite with an Al2O3 content of 54% by weight is preferably used as aluminium carrier and sodium metasilicate in anhydrous form or in the form of the hydrates Na2SiO3.SH2O or Na2SiO3.9H2O o a mixture of a silicic acid SO and the corresponding quantity of sodium hydroxide in the form of aqueous solutions are used as reactents for the formation of SiO2. The diaclochic ions are added as a solution of the corresponding alkali metal water-soluble salt of the meta form; in the case of P2O3 or As2O3, or as an aqueous solutio of the alkali metal water-soluble tertiary salt thereof. The sodium ions may be wholly or partially replaced by Pb++ or Zn++ions. Fluorine ions may be added to the reaction mixture. A water-soluble chlorinate and then a reducing agent such as sodium difluorite, which reduces the chromate ions to the trivalent state, may also be added to the reaction mixture. German Specification 1,174,149 is referred to.
