Abstract
<PICT:0897223/III/1> Sodium zeolite A, of formula (1,0\sB0,2)-Na2O.Al2O3.(1,85\sB0,2) SiO2. (0 to 6) H2O, is prepared from substances capable of providing sodium oxide, silica and alumina, by (a) forming a solution of the substances so that the molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 is between 0,5 and 4,5, and so that, after the formation of an intermediate sodium aluminosilicate, the solution contains free sodium hydroxide in a concentration between 1,5 and 5,0 mol/1, the concentration being represented by co-ordinates within the area B of the Figure, and (b) heating the solution, together with the intermediate aluminosilicate, for at least 15 minutes at not more than 80 DEG C. In examples, sodium zeolite A is prepared from solutions of sodium aluminate, sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide in various concentrations. Specification 777,232 is referred to.
