Abstract
A grout is formed from an aqueous solution of a soluble alkali metal silicate, an acid or acid salt or a compound forming acid by hydrolysis, and a finely divided insoluble magnesium compound which at the pH of the gel formed from the silicate grout is converted to magnesium hydroxide. The magnesium compound may be the trisilicate, basic carbonate, or oxide. Preferably the pH of the grout is 9.5 to 11.0
