Abstract

984,319. Washing containers. R. G. FREESTONE. Dec. 13, 1963 [Dec. 20, 1962], No. 48249/62. Heading B8T. A container, e.g. a bin, on a stand 10 is internally sprayed by a water jet from a nozzle 26, the water being discharged under steam pressure supplied through a pipe 25 which draws the water from a reservoir 14 through nozzle inlets 27; as the quantity of water in the reservoir reduces, the ratio of steam to water increases until steam alone is emitted to provide a final sterilizing treatment. The reservoir is supplied via a pipe 20 from a cistern 15 having a float controlled valve 17. The container may be internally sprayed by several pressure jets.
