Abstract
1,097,644. Treatment of growing trees. D. L. CLARK. Feb. 8, 1966 [Feb. 9, 1965; Nov. 1, 1965], No. 5427/66. Heading A1E. [Also in Divisions B4 and F1] Apparatus for administering liquid to trees comprises an axe the head 11 of which supports a distributer member 10 to which the liquid is pumped from container 14 via pipes 15, 16. The distributer 10 is arranged transversely of the axe head and has two outlet nozzles controlled by a weight responsive valve to permit flow of liquid to whichever nozzle is uppermost in use. A plunger pump may be used or the container 14 may be pressurized. For use with a tomahawk the dispensing of the liquid may be controlled by a valve comprising a plunger having a through bore which is brought into and out of register with pipes 15, 16.
