Abstract

983,415. Operating handles for vehicle windows. WILMOT BREEDEN Ltd. Nov. 7, 1963 [Dec. 17, 1962], No. 47444/62. Heading B7E. An operating handle for vehicle windows comprises a moulded arm 3 integral with a spindle 8 on which a moulded knob 6 is retained by a domed member 7 having two or more tongues 7b projecting inwardly to grip the spindle, the ends of the tongues being bent towards the domed portion of the member 7. A light spring 9 urges the knob towards the domed member 7. The moulded arm 3 is also integral with a boss 2 having a splined recess 4 adapted to engage a splined shaft 10 forming part of a window-operating mechanism (not shown). The handle is secured to the shaft 10 by a screw 11 which engages a screw-threaded bore in the shaft 10.
