Abstract

956,168. Control cable adjusters. CYCLO GEAR CO. Ltd. Jan. 2, 1963 [Jan. 24, 1962], No. 2541/62. Heading B7E. A combination of derailleur gear and Bowden type cable has the cable outer sleeve 13 seated against a spring 12 contained within a cable socket 10 fixed to a bicycle frame lug 11, the spring providing automatic adjustment of the cable. In a modification. Fig. 2 (not shown), the cable socket is provided with a reduced shank portion extending outwardly from its bottom, and the spring is either positioned within the socket as before, or arranged to encircle the shank and abut a cable stop (not shown).
