The back squab frame 18 of a vehicle seat is pivotally mounted on the seat frame 10, and angularly adjustable relative to the seat frame by means of an externally screw-threaded rod 26 pivotally mounted on the seat frame 10 engaging within an internally threaded slide 28 carried by the back frame 18. The slide 28 has external helical teeth which mesh with corresponding helical teeth cut on the shank of an operating handle 30 carried by the seat frame 18. Hence rotation of the handle 30 alters the angular position of the back frame 18.
