Abstract

983,143. Valves. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. June 15, 1961 [July 1, 1960], No. 23197/60. Heading F2V. A fluid-flow control valve comprises a valve body 2 having a number of ports 3 and housing a valve plug 4 rotatable to isolate each of the ports in turn and to couple the others together, means 14, 6, 8 for feeding fluid to the isolated port and means 5, 11, 15 for exhausting fluid from the coupled ports. A star wheel 26, secured to the valve spindle, is rotated intermittently by a striker pin 40 on a motordriven shaft 36. The valve may be used for isolating and cleaning in turn each of the filters of a fluidized bed reactor.
