Abstract

982,411. Tents. K. H. KLAHOLD, and F. SCHAEFER. Dec. 27, 1961, No. 46341/61. Heading E1A. A folding tent frame comprises tresses each consisting of two rafters 3, 4 and two uprights 1 articulatedly inter-connected and lockable in the operative position by securing means, the tresses being inter-connected by purlins and in the hinged-open position being locked at the articulations at the eaves and at the ridge. Each upright 1, Fig. 4, is locked to a rafter 3 by a spring-loaded hook 8 pivoted, as is the rafter 3, to plate 5 riveted to the upright 1. The rafter 3 is also pivoted to plates 13 rivited to the rafter 4 and is locked thereto by a spring-loaded pawl 16, Fig. 3. The plates 5 are provided with apertures 26, 27 to receive the portions which are locked in position when rotated through 90 degrees. Bracing elements articulated to the purlins may also be employed for locking engagement with the uprights, see Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown).
