Abstract

742,318. Collapsible caravans. HANSEN, G. I. O. MOLTKE-. March 4, 1953 [March 8, 1952], No. 6037/53. Addition to 708,528. Class 108 (1). [Also in Group X] The collapsible and telescopic caravan of the parent Specification has the articulated panels 4, 5, and the centre floor section 6 provided now with triangulated framework which encloses the assembly in a crate-like structure when the sections are telescoped, and supports the sections when they are extended. Links 7 and 8 hinged to the frameworks and to each other may be aligned and locked together when the caravan is extended, and bracing members 15, 15a and cross bars 12, 12<SP>1</SP> are provided and may be locked together when the caravan is collapsed. Trusses 13 and 13<SP>1</SP> further reinforce the support. Protecting panels 10, 10<SP>1</SP> may be hinged to the upper edges of the walls, and the sections may be opened and closed by hand winches.
