Abstract

An iron based alloy consists of: .Mn.13.0 -18.0% .Ni.7.0 -11.0% .C.0.95- 1.1% .Si.up to 1.0% the balance being iron. The alloy may be heat treated by heating to 1100 DEG C. and quenching in water.
