A window opening 4 is flanked by uprights 1 having flanges 1a wide enough to be cut out as shown, to accommodate the curved side edges of the window, the opening 4 being completed by members 2 having a root 6 welded to the flanges 1a and flanges 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, co-planar with the flanges 1a. The upright 1 is of T-section in plan with the web 1b extending inwardly of the vehicle. The upper edge of the root 6 of the member 2 may have a downwardly facing groove to accommodate an interior trimpanel.
