978,231. Drive for floor trolleys. DICKSON & MANN Ltd. Jan. 12, 1961 [Feb. 11, 1960], No. 4844/60. Heading B7L. In a release mechanism for wheeled trucks arranged to run on a floor 3 and to be coupled to an overhead driving chain, a buffer 4 projects from the front of a truck on arms 5 axially slidable, against springs 8, in guides 6 and a horizontal platform 61, mounted between the arms 5, normally supports a mast 12 in engagement with the overhead driving chain until the buffer 4 meets an obstruction to move the platform 11 rearwardly from below the mast 12 which drops out of driving engagement with the overhead driving chain. The mast 12 is lifted by a handle 16 and springs 8 move the platform 11 to the operative position below the end of the mast 12. The arms 5 are slidable in the guides 6 on ball bearings 7.
