Abstract

1,238,891. Mechanical garage. A. ROTH. 10 Oct., 1968 [13 Oct., 1967; 22 June, 1968], No. 48008/68. Heading B8E. A mechanical garage has bays 1, 2 on either side of a lift shaft 3 having a lift 4 provided with a carriage 5 having transfer trucks 5a, 5b. A car is driven or rolled on to the carriage 5 so that its front and rear wheels rest on the trucks 5a, 5b respectively and the lift is raised to the level of an empty bay where the trucks 5a, 5b are moved sideways on rails 6a into recesses between a platform 8 and a landing 7 on to which the car is now rolled to allow the trucks to be withdrawn. In a modification, Fig. 7, independent trucks 29, 31 are used which are moved sideways together on rollers 28, 30 running on guides 26, 27. To load a vehicle on to these trucks thrust rollers 33, 35 are operated to move the front and rear wheels 36, 37 on to an extendable plate 34 and the truck 31 respectively. Other arrangements of thrust rollers are described.
