Abstract

976,561. Pneumatic conveyers. HENRY SIMON Ltd. Aug. 15, 1963 [Aug. 20, 1962], No. 31833/62. Heading B8A. Outlet ducts 4, 5, Fig. 1, for the hoppers 2 of a suction elevator 1 are formed on the outside walls of the hoppers and have common party wall elements 7 which are detachably mounted so that material trapped in the ducts 5 may be released into the hoppers 2. The wall elements 7 may be held by suction against a seal 8, Fig. 2 (not shown). A self-closing adaptor 12 may be arranged on the elevator 1 for attachment of a flexible tube, the other end of which may be inserted into the hoppers for subsequently removing the released material by suction. Flared air inlet ducts 9, 10 with control valves 11 may be arranged for introducing scavenging air into the base of each hopper and outlet duct.
