Abstract

975,672. Fabric treating apparatus. REGGIANI S.p.A. May 19, 1961 [Nov. 19, 1960], No. 18347/61. Heading D1L. Plant for the breadth washing of tape or web material, comprises a long and narrow channel, closed at one end and open at its other end, guide and traction means for passing the tape through the channel making it enter and issue from the open end thereof and means for circulating treating liquid in the channel at a speed of its own, relative to that of the tape and independent thereof. In Fig. 1, K indicates the narrow channel and treating liquid is sucked from vat B by pump P and circulated down through channel K. The material to be treated passes from m 1 around guide and tensioning rollers into the mouth of channel K and from thence up the channel, over a guide roller at the top, down the channel again and out of the mouth and thence by guide rollers, between squeeze rollers W 1 , W 2 to m 2 . To increase turbulence the channel K may be provided with throttling members D. If desired a series of such plants may be provided and the material to be treated fed from one to another.
