Abstract

987,044. Textile treating apparatus. REGGIANI.S.p.A. July 5, 1962 [July 6, 1961], No. 25883/62. Addition to 975,672. Heading D1L. Tape or web washing apparatus comprises a unit including a long and narrow channel provided with guide and traction means for passing the tape through said channel, means for circulating treating liquid in the channel at a speed relative to that of the tape and independent thereof, the pressure end and the recollecting end of the liquid at the ends of the channel being in the form of slit openings connected to a forced circulation circuit to provide for injection of the liquid into the channel and suction of the liquid out of the channel. In the embodiment shown fabric entering the vat 3 is passed over roller 5 and then moves downwards to be immersed in the liquid at level P, thence it is deflected by roller 6 and directed upwards to guide roller 7 and then out through the squeezing cylinders 8, 9 operated by hydraulic cylinder 11. The portion 4a of the fabric moves relative to the washing liquid whilst the portion 4b which travels within a channel formed by walls 3a of the vat and 12a of a conveying body 12 fixed within said vat, meets the washing water in counter-stream direction. The means for producing the flow of liquid in said channel comprises two slit openings 13 each of which is connected of its own distributing pipe 13a. At the bottom of the channel there are suction opening 14 connected to suction pipes 14a. The pipes 13a and 14a are connected to the outlet side and the suction side respectively of a circulating pump so as to circulated the treating liquid. The inlet and outlet pipes may be provided with heating means to heat the treatment liquid. In a second embodiment a second narrow channel is provided on the downside for the fabric to pass through and in a third embodiment the fabric is passed down and up in the same channel treatment liquid also be directed between the two runs of the fabric.
