975,006. Slip coatings for photographic materials. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. April 30,1962 [May 5, 1961], No. 16440/62. Drawings to Specification. Headings G2A and G2C. A backing layer for a support with a silver halide emulsion or for a leader attached to a photographic material comprises an organic alkalisoluble polymer and a primary, straight-chained amide containing 8-18 carbon atoms. Specified polymers are cellulose ethers and esters such as cellulose acetate butyrate, ethyl cellulose and cellulose nitrate. Carbon black or a dye may be added to the backing layer. Specifications 706, 901 and 721, 927 are referred to.
