Abstract

964,773. Photographic silver halide materials. KODAK Ltd. Oct. 21,1960 [Oct. 22, 1959], No. 35761/59. Heading G2C. Photographic light-sensitive material for use in preparing printing blocks comprises a transparent support having on one side thereof a silver halide emulsion layer having a gamma of at least 3,and,on the other side of the support or between the emulsion layer and the support, an antihalation layer having an optical density between 0.1 and 0.3 when measured by tungsten light. The antihalation agent may be manganese dioxide. Exposure, using a half-tone screen, is carried out through the support to give a negative which is non-laterally reversed when viewed from the emulsion side. The negative is printed on to lightsensitive photomechanical material and processed to a printing matrix in known manner. Specifications 926,646 and 928,390 are referred to.
