A thermographic copying material comprises a transparent support having on one side an opaque coating containing a light-coloured pigment and on the other side a heat-sensitive coating. A transparent protective coating may be applied over the heat-sensitive coating. Copying of an original may be effected by reflex exposure with the heatsensitive layer of the thermographic material uppermost. The transparent support may be of transparent paper, cellulose, cellulose ester, or a plastic, the opaque coating may be of fine particles of organic or inorganic pigment materials in a smooth film-forming binder, and the heat-sensitive layer may be of the colour-forming type, e.g. involving a metal salt of an organic acid and an aromatic polyhydroxy compound or thiourea, comprising a transparent film-forming binder.
