A mixing valve comprises a body 10 having hot and cold inlets 30, 32 communicating with a bore 16, a sleeve 18 lining the boreand provided with inlet ports 34, 36 in fluid flow relation with the inlets 30, 32, spaced annular sealing means 64, 66 between the outside of the sleeve and the bore and between which the ports are disposed, a movable valve stem 20 having a sliding fit in the sleeve, an outlet port 46 in the sleeve, an outlet port 50 or 52 in the body in fluid flow relation with the outlet port in the sleeve, the valve stem being relieved to form a passage 88 adapted to be positioned by axial and rotational movement so as to selectively provide a fluid flow passage between either or both of the inlet ports in the sleeve and the outlet port, and annular sealing means 82, 84 between the sleeve bore and the stem and positioned so as to straddle the inlet ports in the sleeve in the closed position of the stem. The axial and angular movement of the latter is limited by a recess 86 and pin 38 which also serves to secure the sleeve to the body. The outlets 54, 56 may be connected by pipes to a shower and a bath while a vent 92 reduces resistance to inward movement of the stem by a handle 24.
