Abstract
498,834. Valves. BOOTH & CO., Ltd., S., and LEE, H. July 14, 1937, No. 19475. [Class 135] [Also in Groups I and XXVIII] In a mixing fitting for baths &c. the hot and cold supplies are fed from their respective control cocks to a common outlet through separate passages one of which is disposed around or partially around the other to prevent the cold supply interfering with the hot supply. The Figure shows a construction in which a valve is provided with two outlets 12a, 12b for the bath and a spray device respectively. The cold supply passes through a passage 7d to a blind tube 8, with ports 8a, surrounded by a ported sleeve 9 rotatable with but spaced from a ported plug 10 with a handle 17. The hot supply passes to the annular space between the sleeve and plug through a passage 7e which partially surrounds the cold water passage 7d. The port 9c in the sleeve for the spray outlet 12b consists of a small aperture which restricts the cold supply.
