A mattress supporting arrangement for a bed has a frame consisting of members 10 between which are stretched tension members 14 each formed of a metal strip 18 bent at each end to form a loop 19 secured by spot welding 22 or rivetting, a resilient rubber member 23 being mounted in the loop together with an abutment member 24 and the anchorage portion 17 of a hook, the limbs of which engage apertures 12a, 12b in a horizontal flange 11 of frame member 10. The rubber member 23 may be replaced by spring strip or coiled compression springs.
