Abstract

980,156. Resilient supporting frames. J. G. M. NIELSEN. July 10, 1963, No. 27300/63. Heading A4M. A resilient upholstery frame comprising longitudinal and transverse frame members 3, 4, respectively, of spring steel, is anchored to a standing frame 1 by brackets 5 fastened approximately at the middle of the longitudinal frame members 3 leaving both ends thereof free to move resiliently under load, in relation to the standing frame. The lower transverse frame member 4 may have support springs 8 which bear against, or are fastened to, a rail 2 of the standing frame 1. Stretched rubber straps 6 may be secured between frame members 3 and the whole frame upholstered. Extra cross members 7 may be incorporated in large frames and the frame members may have a covering 10 of rubber or like material.
