Abstract

1430590 Mattresses &c. DUNLOP Ltd 13 Dec 1973 [21 Dec 1972] 59247/72 Heading A4M A bed base or like support comprises a plurality of slats 30 each extending between opposed frames 20 and resiliently supported at each end by a mounting member having a cavity to receive a slat end and a bifurcated portion, the legs 13 of which bear the load on the mounting. In some embodiments, Figs. 3, 4 and 6, the mounting is made from elastomeric material. The legs 13 may be selectively engaged in notches 24, Fig. 6, in a bracket 25 secured to the frame 20. Alternatively, Fig. 3, the legs 13 are a loose fit in housings 21, the position of the legs 13 being adjustable by shims or spacers 22. Alternatively, Fig. 4, the legs may bear on a block 23 secured to the frame 20. In another embodiment, Fig. 7, the mounting member is formed from resilient metal, the limbs 13 being selectively engaged in notches 24 in a mounting bracket 25.
