Abstract

A mattress or like support comprises a generally flat mesh 3 formed by interlinked sinuous springs peripherally secured to a rigid frame 1 by anchoring members 9 which are adjustable to vary the tension in the mesh 3, each anchoring member 9 having three angled seats 9E, 9C, 9B defining two unequally spaced pairs 9E, 9C and 9C, 9B which are selectively utilised to anchor the ends 3A of the sinuous springs either directly to the frame 1 or to an anchoring hook 5 engaging the frame. A lever 9A on the anchoring member 9 is manually engaged to move the latter between the alternative anchoring positions.
