970,229. Pressure casting machines. A .B. ZUEV, V. P. SAVITSKY, and G. E. GALAIDA. June 21, 1963, No. 24725/63. Heading B3F. A pressure casting machine has a discard ejector mechanism which comprises a hammer 1, mounted on the machine frame, which is moved upwards by a flange 5 upon the downward movement of the ram 3. The hammer head engages a spring-biased latch 7 which is controlled by a solenoid 12. When the ram 3 raises the plunger 6 out of the injection cylinder 13 an ejector ram 8 moves upwards with the discard and a projection on the ram 8 engages a switch 11 which operates the solenoid 12 to withdraw the latch 7 permitting the hammer to swing downwards to knock the discard 14 sideways into a container 16.
