Abstract
811,873. Casting-machines. DIE CASTING MACHINE TOOLS Ltd., and MILLS, A. R. July 19, 1957 [July 27, 1956], No. 23344/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 83 (1). In a die-casting machine, means are provided for brushing the dies after they have been moved apart. Wire-brushes are moved down between the open dies by a pneumatic-piston, actuated at the correct time by switches operated by movement of machine parts. Lubricant such as a graphite solution may be sprayed on to the brushes. The brushes ensure a positive ejection of a casting from the dies, and the brush-operating mechanism is preferably interlocked with the die-operating mechanism so that the dies cannot be closed until the brushes have made a full stroke across the dies and back again.
