969,203. Induction flowmeters. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Aug. 4, 1961 [Aug. 5, 1960], No. 27329/60. Drawings to Specification. Heading G1N. A meter for measuring the flow of a non-conducting fluid has long plate electrodes spaced apart in planes parallel to the field. An alternating magnetic field is generated through a pipe of non- conducting material and the voltage across the plates is measured by a valve voltmeter of high impedance. Alternatively current may be detected in a circuit including a phase sensitive detector for rejecting an unwanted portion. Some mathematics and dimensions are included: The plates may be located externally of the pipe.
