Abstract

1,108,084. Electro-physical measurement. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. April 20, 1965 [April 21, 1964], No. 16547 /64. Heading G1N. The thickness/resistivity of a conductive sheet is determined by evaluation of the phase relation between a sinusoidal flux and a voltage employed to generate the flux. As described a pair of C-cores above and below the sheet carry magnetizing windings 25, supplied from an oscillator 21 and amplifier 22; and search coils 27 interwound with the magnetizing winding and connected in a bridge-circuit whose output is connected through a tuned amplifier 23 to an oscilloscope 24. Alternatively a thermal wattmeter may be used to measure the eddy current loss. Fig. 3 (not shown).
