Abstract

969,172. Printing plates. AGFA A.G. April 16, 1963 [April 14, 1962], No. 14888/63. Addition to 950,007. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] A printing forme for hectographic or heat printing comprises in superposed layers a paper support, a gelatin layer containing an exposed and developed photographic silver image, a relief layer on those areas of the gelatine layer where no silver image is present comprising a polymer containing free or neutralized carboxyl groups and coloured printing foil portions adhering to the relief layer. The printing foil portions may contain an alcohol soluble dye such as Victoria Blue or Crystal Violet or a dye sublimable between 80‹ and 220‹ C. such as triphenylmethane dye, a dispersion dye, a smoke dye, an oxidation dye or an anthraquinone. Alternatively, the remainder of the layer used to form the relief layer on the gelatine layer may have coloured printing foil portions applied thereto and used as a printing forme.
